My mixed-culture background from Mumbai and New York City gives me a unique point of view in both my styling and my writing by blending global influences with everyday city life.
Chic in New York is my digital space where fashion, city life, and personal growth meet. I created this platform to share stories, style inspiration, retail insights, and the little moments that make New York feel magical: from coffee on busy sidewalks to the thrill of discovering a great piece and the art of putting looks together.
I am a fashion-educated retail leader based in New York City, with experience across sales performance, customer experience, and merchandising strategy. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Technology of Fashion from the City University of New York, where I focused on fashion merchandising and marketing. My career in fashion and specialty retail has shaped my results-driven, customer-first perspective and my love for observing how people interact with brands in real life.
Currently, I work in retail leadership, managing a Manhattan flagship environment and leading teams, business performance, and client experience. My past experience includes working at major global and national retail brands, earning recognition for sales results, service excellence, and customer relationships. These roles deepened my belief that great retail is a blend of analytics, emotion, and storytelling.
Beyond my professional work, I am the co-founder of Merchant Collection LLC, a fashion sourcing and resale venture supporting women-led vendors in India and Pakistan. Through this project, I became deeply involved in buying, pricing, vendor relationships, and the business side of fashion and it further strengthened my interest in merchandising and product strategy.
