Wedding Look: Outfit designed to wear at my sister’s wedding

Created for my sister’s wedding, this look pairs a gold sequin embroidered mesh layered over a rich burgundy satin base, accented with pleated gold trim on base and the sleeves to invoke timeless Indian opulence. I styled it with a statement gold ruffle dupatta and traditional Indian jewelry. The mesh overlay was intentionally designed with a subtle peekaboo effect, allowing just a glimpse of the burgundy satin beneath, thus striking a perfect balance without overpowering the intricate embroidery above.

I got several compliments on this outfit while attending guests at my sister’s wedding in 2022. I am not a designer, given my qualification, my expertise is on the business side of fashion, but being able to design an outfit myself and getting praised for it was an unforgettable experience.
